VIDEO // Moldova's National Social Insurance House urges citizens to access personal social insurance account; information can be verified electronically

The National Social Insurance House (CNAS) urges citizens to access their personal social insurance account, in order to check whether employers are complying with their obligation to declare and pay state social insurance contributions. The institution warns that this data is very important for establishing social insurance benefits, such as pensions, temporary incapacity for work allowances or benefits provided to families with children.

Contacted by the agency, Angela Rezan, deputy head of the General Directorate for Individual Record of Contributions at CNAS, stressed that checking the data in the personal social insurance account was an essential tool for each insured person, providing transparency and the ability to monitor the data that is entered in the personal account.

“It is very important to check the data in the personal account, so that we can prepare for a certain risk. As the years go by, it becomes more difficult to recover information to be entered in the personal social insurance account, if the employer has not fulfilled the obligation to calculate and declare mandatory state social insurance contributions,” said Angela Rezan.

Thus, by accessing their personal account, insured citizens can check whether employers have correctly declared the period of activity and have paid social insurance contributions.

“Also, the information in the personal account allows an estimate of the contribution period made. If discrepancies or errors are found in the account data, insured persons can request that the employer correct them in due time, avoiding later problems when establishing social benefits. Likewise, the personal account is updated monthly, providing relevant information about the history of contributions and the social benefits received. Regular access to the data in the personal social insurance account is a right and a responsibility of each insured person,” stated Angela Rezan.

She explained to citizens how the data in the personal social insurance account can be accessed.

“CNAS offers insured persons the possibility to view, electronically, the data from the personal social insurance account via the ACCES CPAS Information System or the government portal of the citizen. Thus, insured persons who have an electronic or mobile signature can access the data in their personal account through the MPass service, without having to go to the territorial structure of CNAS to receive an access password,” underlined Angela Rezan.

For insured persons who do not have an electronic or mobile signature, access to the data in the personal account via the ACCES CPAS IS takes place based on the login and access password issued by the Territorial Social Insurance Office or by CNAS.
