Soldiers of Moldova were the first among foreign delegations to march at the military parade, organized on December 1 on the Triumphal Arch Square in Bucharest, in order to mark Romania's National Day. The parade was also attended by Moldova's Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatii.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Maria Aramă, head of the Information and Mass Media Communication Service of the Ministry of Defense, said that the detachment of soldiers made up of peacekeepers from the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion Blue Helmets and members of the Guard of Honor's flag-bearing group was led by Boris Raileanu.
Anatolie Nosatii wrote on his page that he had gone to Bucharest to mark Romania's National Day alongside Moldova’s friends and partners, as well as to support the National Army soldiers who participated in the parade.
The military parade in Bucharest, organized on the occasion of December 1, started at 11:00 marking the opening of all activities dedicated to Romania's National Day. Twenty-one cannon salutes were fired and over 2,900 soldiers and specialists, along with military equipment, marched in the Triumphal Arch area of the Romanian capital. Fighter jets did not take off, because of unfriendly weather conditions.
Present at the event were President of Romania, Nicusor Dan, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Sorin Grindeanu, the leader of the Social Democratic Party, as well as other Romanian officials and representatives of diplomatic corps.
