VIDEO // Power supply restored in Moldova; energy minister praises cooperation with Romania, Ukraine

The power supply has been restored throughout the entire territory of Moldova, announced Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu. The electrical grids are operating stably, without consumption restrictions, Junghietu specified. The minister expressed his gratitude to the operators of the power system of Romania and Ukraine for their cooperation and support in overcoming the crisis.

“The process of restoring the power supply in the transmission system was completed by 15:40 across the entire territory of the country, with all 110 kV substations being energized. In the Chisinau municipality, the reconnection of consumers was carried out in stages, by restoring the supply of the 10 kV feeders, and at present the electrical grids are operating stably, without consumption restrictions. At this time, the National Power System is operating within normal parameters, electricity consumption is within the limits of the forecast values, and it is not necessary to procure emergency power,” said Dorin Junghietu.

At the same time, the minister noted that distribution system operators continued the work of reconnecting end consumers, a process that is to be completed in the coming period.

Dorin Junghietu also thanked the operators from the power system of Romania and Ukraine for their cooperation and support in overcoming the crisis, as well as the consumers of Moldova for their patience and support throughout the process.

“I want to thank the operators of the power system of Romania and Ukraine for their cooperation and extensive support in overcoming this situation. I also want to thank the consumers of Moldova for every support you have provided throughout this period in overcoming this situation,” Junghietu added.

Today morning, at 10:42, disturbances were recorded in the power system of  Moldova, after the voltage dropped on the 400 kV high-voltage line Isaccea–Vulcanesti–MGRES (Kuchurgan power station). Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu, informed that Moldova was facing a delicate situation in the national power system as a result of failures that had occurred in the electricity grid in Ukraine.
