VIDEO // World Blood Donor Day: each donation can save up to three lives
The Ministry of Health paid tribute to voluntary blood donors on World Blood Donor Day, marked annually on 14 June, highlighting their contribution to saving lives and supporting the medical system in the Republic of Moldova.
Among the donors recognized by the authorities is Vladimir Para, who has made 170 voluntary donations over 17 years. Also mentioned were Ruslan Ceainac, with 89 voluntary donations over the past 19 years, and Maxim Calaraș, who has donated blood 48 times.
According to the Ministry of Health, these are just a few of the volunteers who continue to donate blood on a regular basis, turning this act into a commitment to the community and to people in need.
The institution emphasizes that each donation can represent a chance at life for patients who require blood transfusions, including children, mothers, or people undergoing treatment for serious conditions. At the same time, the authorities remind that blood cannot be produced artificially, and hospital needs can be met only through the contribution of voluntary donors.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Health issued a new call to the population to participate in donation campaigns, noting that the act is simple but has a major impact on the lives of those who depend on transfusions.
World Blood Donor Day is marked every year on 14 June at the initiative of the World Health Organization and aims to promote voluntary donation and to acknowledge the contribution of donors to saving human lives.
