PHOTO GALLERY // Russia's designated Ambassador to Moldova summoned to Foreign Affairs Ministry for explanations after drone crash in Floresti district
The designated Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Moldova, Oleg Ozerov, today was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), where he received an official note of protest. The decision of the Moldovan side is expressed in the context of an incident which occurred on November 25 morning, when Moldovan airspace was illegally overflown by six drones, one of which crashed in the northern Floresti district.
The Russian-made Gerbera drone, which fell on the roof of a house in the Floresti district, was displayed outside the MAE’s building, before the diplomat’s arrival. Thus, the MAE described the actions as absolutely unacceptable, highlighting that they represent a serious violation of Moldova's sovereignty and a direct threat to national and regional security.
At the same time, the MAE asked the Russian Embassy to undertake the necessary measures to prevent the repetition of similar incidents.
