Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - A new shop of Moldovan brands, Din Inima, (From the Bottom of the Heart) today was opened in the centre of Chisinau, with the financial support of the Competitiveness Project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Attending the event, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the United States in Chisinau Julie Stufft has said that the inauguration of such a shop was a new step towards the development of industry in Moldova.

“The U.S. Embassy and the American people are proud of having managed to provide assistance for this project, which began from an idea in 2012, and afterwards developed into a very important company for Moldova’s industry. During three years, sales of native brands have reached the figure of seven million dollars, and the next step due to be made by these industrial companies is to increase exports,” Stufft said.

For his part, Deputy Culture Minister Igor Sarov congratulated the team which promoted and implemented this project and thanked the U.S. embassy’s representatives for the support provided. “This project was launched to enhance the consideration and value of the native brands from the textile industry sector. Due to the progress recorded since the opening of the first shop till present, a commercial platform with the same name, Din Inima, was created, that will consolidate the identity of Moldovan clothing products, footwear and accessories, both on the local market and abroad,” Sarov added.

The first Din Inima shop was launched in December 2012, with 13 participating companies. Presently, over 70 Moldovan brands are opened, which provide 26,000 jobs and make sales with their own trademark. In Moldova, there are about 400 enterprises of textiles, footwear and accessories, which offer jobs to a large number of residents.
