Chisinau, 09 March /MOLDPRES/ – The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) and the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) announce that arrears in funding subsidies submitted requests for 2016 will be finalized "in the near future".

'The examination and processing of approximately 97 per cent of total applications submitted to AIPA in 2016 and adjust the amounts claimed, given the final authorization procedures and payment (including already registered at the State Treasury) there remain about 620 requests, totaling around 105 million lei, which will be credited to farmers in the near future," reads a press release of MAIA’s  information and media communication service.

After the entry into force of the State Budget for 2017 "AIPA has resumed the payment of claims for 2016, remaining without financial coverage, because of exhaustion of the fund resources by subsidizing agricultural producers for 2016". The communiqué states that in 2016, AIPA received about 4530 applications, the gross value of about 640 million lei. From funds remaining available in 2016, there were paid for 1643 requests, totaling about 230 million lei, while during January – February this year, from the allocations Funds of 2017, there were paid another 231 million lei into about 2100 applications. Thus, in total, onto the accounts of farmers, there were transferred about 461 million lei.

Previously, more farmers had complained that there were delayed the payments of arrears of grant for applications submitted in 2016.
