Moldovan foreign minister to participate in meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization

Chisinau, 21 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur is on a working visit to Istanbul, Turkey, today, to participate in a special session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC).

According to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service, the event precedes a summit of the heads of state and government, due in Istanbul on 22 May, on the occasion of BSEC’s 25th anniversary.  

In the context of the meeting, the Moldovan diplomacy head is to give a speech on ways of deepening the regional economic cooperation.

The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization is a structure of regional cooperation, the foundations of which were laid in 1992, when the leaders of 11 states (Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Albania, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Greece) signed the Bosphorus Declaration in Istanbul. The 11 states which signed the Declaration in 1992 are founding states and Serbia joined in 2001.
