Today in Moldova

The parliamentary commission for foreign policy and European integration holds a meeting at the parliament at 8:30.

The MPs and civil servants of the Parliament’s Secretariat donate blood to children at risk. The action takes place all day long and is organized by the parliament, in partnership with the National Blood Transfusion Centre, in the context of the International Children’s Day. The event takes place at the parliament at 9:00.

The parliament holds a plenary meeting starting from 10:00.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip pays a working visit to the central Hincesti district.

The visit’s agenda includes:

12:30 – the PM visits a family-type children’s home from the Calmatui village;

13:00 – the prime minister attends an event of inauguration of the Leuseni Border Inspection Point.

14:30 – PM Pavel Filip pays a visit to a factory for producing footwear from the Obileni village.

A ceremony of detaching the seventh National Army contingent to the KFOR peacekeeping mission in Kosovo takes place at the Defence Ministry at 10:00.

A news conference on announcing the second issue of the descOPERA Festival – a Classical Music Festival in the open air from Butuceni, central Orhei district, is held at the open air theatre from Butuceni at 9:30-11:00. The festival takes places during 9-11 June.

The Union of War Veterans from the Chisinau municipality invites to a news conference on new tasks for the Union’s new leadership, at IPN at 10:00.

The Urban Civic Forum holds a news conference to unveil an open letter to the Moldovan parliament speaker on a draft code of Town Planning and Constructions, at IPN at 11:00.

An MP of Gagauzia’s People’s Assembly (local parliament), Serghei Cernev, gives a news conference on a declaration by Gagauzia’s bashkan (governor), Irina Vlah, on a so-called “international scandal”, triggered by lawmaker Serghei Cernev,  who “put at odds” Gagauzia with Turkey. The event is held at Infotag at 11:00.

A ceremony on the closing of the Italian Week in Moldova and awarding prizes to the laureates of a national fine arts contest titled, Pinocchio meant for minors, takes place at the National Ethnography and Natural History Museum, at 15:00.
