Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova and Romania will continue implementing bilateral projects. Prime Minister Pavel Filip made statements to this effect following a today’s meeting with his Romanian counterpart Mihai Tudose, on a working visit to Moldova.

At a news conference, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that Moldova’s European integration, as well as current projects between the two countries had been discussed at the meeting. “We had an open, sincere and friendly dialogue. There are a lot of joint projects which we want to continue. We established extension of the bilateral cooperation in the commercial and economic sector, increasing investments in Moldova, carrying out the project on construction of the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline, which we hope that it will be functional till late 2018. Also, we discussed the electric energy inter-connection on a segment,” Filip said.

For his part, Romanian PM Mihai Tudose said that the today’s meeting had been constructive. “This visit shows Romania’s attachment to Moldova and the country’s citizens. Romania will further back the Moldovan government in carrying out more projects, in order to improve the citizens’ living standards. At the same time, today we agreed on organizing a joint meeting of the Moldovan and Romanian governments next autumn and meetings will be monthly held to boost the joint projects,” Tudose said.

This is the first working visit to Moldova by Mihai Tudose. Tudose was appointed to the office of prime minister of Romania in late last June.
