New elections of mayors to be held in nine settlements in Moldova

Chisinau, 30 August /MOLDPRES/- New elections of mayors will take place in nine settlements in Briceni, Cantemir, Florești, Glodeni, Hancești, Leova, Straseni, Telenesti districts and Chisinau.

At the yesterday’s meeting, the Central Election Commission (CEC) set that the new local elections of mayors in Singera (Chisinau), Berlinti (Briceni) and Capriana (Straseni) will be held on 19 November 2017.

The election of the mayors in the three settlements will take place as a result of death of mayors in Singera and Berlinti, as well as the impossibility of mayor in Capriana to perform his duties.

Previously, CEC established on 19 November 2017 holding of new local elections of mayors in Fundurii Noi village (Glodeni district), Stefanesti (Floresti), Plopi (Cantemir), Sarateni (Leova), Ghiliceni (Telenesti) and Lapusna (Hancesti).
