Moldovan prime minister meets with head of charity in UK

Chisinau, 06 September /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip met with the founder and director of the British charity organization MAD-Aid, Victoria Dunford, today, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

During the meeting, the parties discussed one of the most important projects of the organization, the Phoenix Centre for children with disabilities in Rascani district, but also about the future project on the opening of an elderly asylum, which would become economically sustainable. That is, the children or other donors are to pay for elderly people stay in the asylum, but the level of their services is to be in line with European standards.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the care and the investments made in the opening and running of the Centre's activity, emphasizing the importance of such projects for Moldovan citizens who need these services. In this context, Pavel Filip mentioned that Moldova has needed the help of its citizens who have gone abroad to make good changes that would be felt by every citizen.

Similarly, the Prime Minister expressed the opening of the Government to provide all necessary support in the realization of the social projects.

The MAD-Aid organization contributes to the improvement of the standards of medical care and of the quality of life for people with physical disabilities living in the rural area of Moldova, as well as to the improvement of the training conditions for children with disabilities. The MAD-Aid founder, Victoria Dunford, is our countryman established for a number of years in the UK, known for charity and special attention to people with special needs in Moldova.
