Buses running in Chisinau have outdated exploitation term

Chisinau, 18 September /MOLDPRES/- All buses running on the routes in the capital have outdated exploitation term and the urban bus park needs new cars. Director of the “Urban Bus Park” enterprise Iacob Capcelea made the statement today at the end of a weekly meeting of the Chisinau city hall.

At the same time, Capcelea said that existing buses pose no danger to travelers and systematically pass technical tests. The head of the city hall noted that the vehicles will run on the streets of the capital until they are replaced by new ones, in this respect, the city hall will earmark a significant amount of money.

“The amount to buy buses has been set, the limit of which is 20 million lei and we are going to consider several bids. We already have a bus produced by a Romanian company in the testing process”, Capcelea said.

The bus under test on the streets of Chisinau is City Bus Diamond, a product of Euro Bus Diamond company. According to information of the manufacturer’s website, the vehicle is designed and developed in cooperation with the Polytechnic University in Bucharest.

Capcelea said that in addition to the company’s offer from Romania, the municipality considers proposals from Chinese and Belarusian economic agents. “Nine buses could be purchased from the allocated money”, he said.

According to data by the Chisinau city hall, 135 buses currently run on the routes in the capital.
