European Village: Dărcăuți residents have access to drinking water

Chisinau, 26 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Residents of Dărcăuți village, Soroca district have access to drinking water, after the construction project of internal water supply systems has been completed. The works were carried out as part of a project included in the European Village Program.

The initiative has benefited from an investment of over nine million lei (450 thousand euros) from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL). By implementing the project, over 17 kilometers of aqueduct system were built. Also, 406 individual connections were made.

About 1200 inhabitants, as well as six public institutions now have access to water.

According to the National Office for Regional and Local Development, so far, aqueduct and sewerage systems have been built in 64 localities in the country through the European Village Program. For the modernization of water and sewage infrastructure, 155 projects out of a total of 497 were approved. 279 have already been completed. The deadline for the completion of all projects has been extended until the end of this June.
