Regional cooperation workshop on tobacco control to be held in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 9 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) will organize a workshop on the launch of the regional cooperation on tobacco control and giving up smoking. The event will take place in the capital, in partnership with the Society of Pediatry from Moldova.

The workshop will be held on 9 and 10 February. Representatives of the professional organizations which take care of the health of children and teenagers from the USA, Romania, Turkey, North Macedonia, Albania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, of Moldova’s Health Ministry, World Health Organization and USMF Nicolae Testemitanu will participate in the event.

A reference framework is planned to be worked out following the workshop, which will include, goals, proper structures and potential results of the cooperation in the long run. The participants will also discuss opportunities of education and support in tobacco control, in order to reduce the smoking regionally.
