Over 17,000 people call ambulance in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Service (AMUP) has been called for 17,078 citizens, of whom 3,329 children.  

According to the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Centre,  most calls are caused by respiratory emergencies – 4,518, of which 2,529 acute viral respiratory infections, followed by cardiovascular emergencies – 3,896 calls, of whom 54 patients with acute coronary syndrome and neurological emergencies – 2,091 calls, of which 239 cerebral vascular accidents.  

On the same period, the ambulance teams provided assistance to 36 people injured in the wake of traffic accidents. Subsequently, 30 patients, among whom four minors, were carried to hospital for specialized treatment.

Forty four calls were registered at AMUP for emergencies triggered by physical, chemical and environmental agents: 20 people suffered from combustions, seven ones had hypothermia and one person had chilblain. At the same time, 35 calls were received for reasons of toxic emergencies.
