Thirteen settlements of two central Moldova districts to be connected to water supply source till next summer

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/ - The works of construction of the water main due to allow the connection of 13 settlements from the central districts of Nisporeni and Ungheni to the water supply source are to be finished till the next summer.  

Presently, workers work on the construction of the foundation for the two water towers, which will supply the Isaicani settlement. At the same time, works for setting the electricity pillars for two pumping stations are carried out. ‘’The construction works within the regional project have been carried out at the level of 50 per cent and they are scheduled to be finished by the next summer,’’ the Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru) said.   

The project comprises the building of an aqueduct with a total length of 30 km, which connects the Prut river to the settlements from the Nisporeni and Ungheni districts. Also, the construction of the interior networks is envisaged in the settlements Bolduresti and Chilisoaia, on a total length of 24.3 km, as well as four pumping stations, ten water towers and six water reservoirs. 

The works for the construction of the water main are financed by the National Fund of Regional and Local Development and have an estimated value of about 64 million lei (3.2 million euros).  

The carrying out of the projects on rehabilitation of water and sewerage systems was declared absolute priority of the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry for 2024.
