Moldovan deputy PM for European Integration says Romania Moldova's principal supporter in process of accession to EU

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov today pays a working visit to Bucharest, at an invitation by Romania’s Foreign Affairs Minister Luminita Odobescu, the government’s communication department has reported.   

The officials discussed the next steps on Moldova’s European integration way and the results of a recent visit to Brussels by Deputy PM Cristina Gherasimov, during which the first stage of the process of assessment of Moldova’s legislation with the EU’s one was started.   

At the same time, the sides analyzed ways in which Moldova can take over and enforce concrete examples from Romania’s experience in the accession process. In this respect, the officials agreed on boosting the cooperation between the European Integration Bureau of Moldova and Romania’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, as well as other relevant institutions in this process.   

Also, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov expressed gratitude for the unconditional support Moldova had benefited from and was benefiting, in continuation, on behalf of Romania. ‘’Doubtlessly, Romania is our principal supporter in the process of accession to EU and we are happy to have a reliable friend and partner with us. Our relations are stronger than ever and we will continue to deepen them in the spirit of our strategic partnership and of the community of language, culture and history,’’ Cristina Gherasimov said.
