Moldovan wrestler wins golden medal at European Senior Wrestling Championships

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ - A Greco-Roman wrestler, Artiom Deleanu, (55 kg) has won the golden medal at the European Senior Wrestling Championships held in Romania.

The Moldovan sportsman managed to defeat a representative of Azerbaijan at the great final. To accede to the final, Deleanu defeated with the score 5:1 an adversary from Bulgaria and in the semifinal he got further after a duel with a wrestler from Armenia.

At the same competition, sportsman Alexandru Gutu fought for the bronze medal; he was defeated by an adversary from Russia and ranked fifth.

The sportsmen were guided by the team’s coaches, Mihail Cucu and Roman Zgardan.

The European Senior Wrestling Championships takes place in Romania on 12-18 February.
