Moldova for the first time ever participates in BIOFACH Congress - international event dedicated to ecological products

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA) participated in the BIOFACH Congress 2024 in Nuremberg, Germany, on 13-15 February for the first time ever. The event is the biggest international fair and congress dedicated to ecological products and brings together professionals from all over the world involved in the ecological production, distribution, trade and consumption of bio products.  

The head of the service of ecological production and products with origin names of the competent ministry, Marina Ilusca, was official speaker. A panel on the ecological agriculture from the Central and Eastern Europe took place at the Congress, during which representatives of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Albania, Serbia and Ukraine exchanged opinions.   

„The representative of our country unveiled the situation in Moldova, the legislation, opportunities of development and participated in discussions on the adjusting of the country’s legislation to the European Union’s Acquis,’’ MAIA noted.    

Also, Moldova participates with exhibition stand in the BIOFACH exhibition for the fifth time. The Association, Alliance of the Value Chain in Ecological Agriculture of Moldova - MOVCA presents here a range fully made of processed ecological products, thus adding value to its portfolio for export.   

This year, BIOFACH brought together 2,550 exhibitors from 94 countries at Messe Nürnberg, providing an exhibition area of more than 80,000 square metres.
