Moldovan head of state, president of committee on defence of Romanian Senate discuss cooperation in defence sector

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with the president of the Committee on Defence, Public Order and National Security of the Romanian Senate, Nicoleta Pauliuc, the presidential press service has reported.

The interlocutors discussed the bilateral cooperation in the national security and defence sector, as Romania is one of the important and reliable partners of Moldova.

The head of state thanked the Bucharest authorities for the every support provided to Moldova, including for the expertise and training in the national defence and security sector, as well as donations of equipment for the national army. The Moldovan president stressed the importance of the backing provided by Romania for enhancing the resilience of Moldova to the hybrid attacks launched by Russia, in order to destabilize the situation in the country.
