Moldova's Vetting Commission starts evaluation of new group of candidates for offices in Supreme Court of Justice, Superior Council of Magistracy

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - Six candidates for the office of judge of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) and five candidates for positions in the two colleges of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) have received notifications on behalf of the Vetting Commission in connection with the starting of the evaluation procedure.  

According to the Commission, the following candidates for CSJ received notifications: Grigore Manoli, Dumitru Mardari, Ruslan Berzoi și Ludmila Bolocan, Vladimir Adam and Diana Ionita, who will be evaluated based on the Law 65/2023. The candidates for positions in the college for the selection and career of the CSM judges, Eugeniu Beșelea, Stanislav Grosu, Vitalie Pislariuc, Ana Zabulică and Sofia Aramă, will be evaluated based on the criteria established by the Law 26/2022.   

The notifications on the starting of the verifications include the declaration of wealth and personal interests, with updated data for the last five years and the declaration on the list of close people from the judicial system, of the prosecutor’s office and in the public service, combined in a single form and the questionnaire of ethics. The notified candidates are to fill in and return to the Commission the declarations during seven days, in the case of the subjects of the Law 26/2022 and in ten days, in the case of the subjects of the Law 65/2023. Through the submission of these documents, the subjects declare, on their own responsibility, the truthfulness and the plenitude of the data unveiled and give their consent to the processing of the personal data.    

Presently, the Commission evaluates 16 candidates in those two colleges of CSM, 16 candidates for the office of CSJ judge and two CSJ judges in office, as well as five candidates for the office of CSM member. So far, the Commission has heard and finished the evaluation as for 11 subjects.
