Tourism & Travel exhibition bringing together over 60 participants from five countries inaugurated at Moldexpo Centre

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - The 27th issue of the international specialized exhibition, Tourism & Travel Expo, was inaugurated at the Chisinau-based Moldexpo Centre today. The event brings together over 60 participants from such countries as Moldova, Armenia, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia. At the event, visitors will be able to find diverse tourist bids for all holiday destinations, at attractive prices, including with sales.        

The participants will promote both the traditional holiday directions and new tourist destinations, leisure packages for different categories of tourists, family holidays on the summer period and in the autumn season, a wide range of watering places, tours and many other things.    

The exhibition brings together representatives of boarding houses, wine cellars, wineries and national and international tourism agencies. They will turn to good account the authentic traditions and folklore, the tourist attraction elements, both for the local residents and foreign tourists.   

At the opening of the event, Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said that the Tourism & Travel Expo exhibition, which had already become traditional, was the most important event in the tourism field in Moldova. ‘’Those three days when the exhibition will be staged are quite important. We, the people of Moldova, must manage to persuade that our country is an attractive tourist destination through our cultural heritage and its turning to account in the eyes of the guests from abroad is our goal,’’ the minister said.      

„The tourism unites people, countries and nations. This is an integral part of the economy of any country. The tourism becomes more and more important for the industrial and economic life in Moldova and in my country, Slovakia,’’ Ambassador of Slovakia to Moldova Pavol Ivan said at the opening of the exhibition.     

Ambassador of Bulgaria to Moldova Maia Dobreva invited the exhibition’s guests to discover Bulgaria as an attractive tourist destination.     

The acting director of Moldexpo, Zinaida Popa, said that not only tourist destinations were promoted at the exhibition, but also the cultural values of Moldova. ‘’The fact that we have over 60 participants shows us how important is for us to develop the tourist sector from Moldova. On those three days of the exhibition, we expect attractive promotions, as we are in the last week of sales and hot bids,’’ Zinaida Popa said.    

Tourism & Travel Expo – 2024 is organized by Moldova’s Culture Ministry, the National Tourism Office and the Moldexpo International Exhibitions Centre, with the subsidization support of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development.    

The exhibition will be open till 18 February.
