Moldovan deputy premier has several meetings with counterparts in Munich

Chisinau, February 16 /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi attends the 60th edition of the Security Conference in Munich.  He had productive talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Hanke Bruins Slot, the MAE press service has reported.

Popșoi reported on the efforts of the Republic of Moldova to advance in the process of joining the European Union, the security challenges in the region generated by Russia's aggression against Ukraine, and the cooperation plans for the next period.

With his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, the Moldovan official discussed the intensification of bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and Turkey with special emphasis on the commercial-economic and investment dimension.

"We also had an exchange of views on the regional situation. We agreed to continue the discussions at the Diplomatic Forum, which will take place in Antalya", said Popșoi.

At the meeting with Bujar Osmani, Popșoi discussed the deepening of bilateral relations in the political, economic, social and cultural fields, as well as regional cooperation.

"We communicated about the progress of the EU accession process and appreciated the experience shared by the authorities in Skopje," he said.

With Hanke Bruins Slot, the Moldovan official reviewed the projects being implemented in our country with the support of the Netherlands, and it was agreed to continue the dialogue on strengthening relations in the cyber security.

"I emphasized the firm commitment of our country to advance in the implementation of the remaining recommendations in the context of the opening of the EU accession negotiations.

I invited my counterparts to visit the Republic of Moldova", the foreign minister said.
