Moldovan president donates Timisoara Award for European Values to My Friend organization

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today informed that it donates the Timisoara Award for European Values to the My Friend organization, founded by Ludmila Adamciuc.

According to the presidential press service, the My Friend Public Association has the mission to enhance the degree of acceptance of disabilities through informing, raising the awareness and empowerment of both the parents of the children with special needs and the society.

„The My Friend Association is the voice of the children with the Down syndrome and promotes their inclusion, so that they live in harmonious families and communities. Each child needs the love of the people around him/her, in order to be brought up, develop and be happy,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The Association for the Promotion of Timisoara will transfer the money directly to the My Friend Public Association.

On 13 January this year, President Maia Sandu paid an official visit to Timisoara. During the visit, the head of state was awarded the Timisoara Award for European Values, which includes a sum of 30,000 euros.
