Moldovan president meets members of U.S. Senate's Committee on Foreign Relations

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a meeting with the Democrat senators Jeanne Shaheen and Christopher Murphy, members of the U.S. Senate’s Committee on Foreign Relations, on a visit to Chisinau. The officials discussed the resolute support of the American partners for Moldova, consolidation of the country’s democracy and the strengthening of the state’s institutions.    

In discussions, the head of state appreciated the U.S. assistance for the strengthening of Moldova’s energy security, reform of justice and fight against corruption. The interlocutors referred also to the regional security. In this context, the Moldovan president highlighted the importance of the United States’ continuous support for Ukraine it is fight against the Russian military aggression. The head of state stressed that Ukraine’s resistance ensured also the security and stability of Moldova.
