Moldova joins Digital Europe Programme

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova joins the Digital Europe Programme, which can generate benefits for entrepreneurs, local administrations, the associative sector and the citizens.
Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba and Commissioner for the Internal Market of the European Union Thierry Breton signed the Association Agreement for the Digital Europe Programme in Brussels.
The economic development and digitalization minister informed that the accession to this programme meant that the business environment, the mayoralties, NGOs and the central institutions from all over Moldova would have access to the European funds for digitalization. The overall budget of 7.5 billion euros is available for all member countries of the programme till 2027.
Thus, Moldova will benefit from financial support and expertise, in order to improve the digital infrastructure and promote the innovation and the digital inclusion.
The association agreement will enter into force retroactively as of 1 January 2024, with the finishing of the ratification processes related.
