Moldovan National Food Safety Agency introduces Health Certificate as of 22 February

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) reminds that the legislative amendments which provide for the facilitation of the activity in the food sector enter into force starting from 22 February.    

Thus, the certificate of inoffensiveness as to the observance of the maximum admitted limit (MAL) of residua of pesticides and of the content of nitrates in the raw material and/or in the food products of vegetal origin was abrogated and will no longer be issued. It will be replaced by the Health Certificate.  

„The health certificate is an optional document, issued for food products of non-animal origin and for compound food products meant for export. The document will be issued following the results of the laboratory tests made by the concerned laboratory or by an accredited lab, through which the compliance the food products with the regulations in the food sector from the export country is confirmed.  At the carrying out of laboratory tests, the collections of samples will be made by the authority issuing the certificate, according to the tariffs approved under Government Decisions,’’ ANSA said.

Through the health certificate, ANSA confirms the quality of the consignments of food products and their safety with the requirements of the export countries. The act can be issued on a free basis and the validity term coincides with the validity term of the food product.   

To get the certificate, the applicant submits an application in the following ways: personally or through an empowered representative, directly at the desk of the territorial food safety subdivisions, in the area of which they work; electronically, by email (in form of electronic document with the advanced qualified electronic signature, through electronic communication means); through letter of recommendation. ‘’The full document can be visualized by accessing the state register of legal acts,’’ ANSA added.
