National Bank of Moldova puts into circulation Mărțişor - symbol of spring coin

Chisinau, March 1. /MOLDPRES/- The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) today put into circulation for numismatic purposes Mărțişor - symbol of spring coin, which will complete Holidays, culture, traditions of Moldova series.

Governor of the National Bank of Romania Anca Dragu said that the coin was issued to highlight the values of martișor (trinket). "I urge you to use this unique symbol, which connects us through tradition. Today, BNM brings you a special trinket. It is more than a work of precious metal. Mărțișor is included in the UNESCO representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity. We hope that the coin will bring you joy and remind you of the beauty and richness of our nation's traditions", said Dragu.

Jubilee and commemorative coins and banknotes, as well as other numismatic items issued by the BNM are traded through licensed banks.
