Moldovan president at Women In Economy Gala

Chisinau, March 6. /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu participated in the sixth edition of Women In Economy Gala, organized by the National Confederation for Women Entrepreneurship (CONAF) and under the auspices of the European Parliament. The event recognizes female personalities with notable results in various key areas of Romanian society.

"Women's involvement is not only an act of social equity, it is an act of independence. This is what I said today to the women and men attending the event. Today, women were awarded who demonstrated, by their own example, that they can succeed in business, overcoming any prejudices, clichés or obstacles. On both banks of the Prut, we need as many examples of resistance as possible, women who assume the role of leader", the head of state said.

The president emphasized how important it is for women to be independent: "The more independent women we see, the more independent and free the community and the whole world will be".
