Moldova's president says Moldovans settled in France true ambassadors of country, contribute to better life in Moldova

Chisinau, 8 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu in Paris has met more Moldovan fellow countrymen who live in France. The head of state said that the meetings with the citizens from the Diaspora always represented a source of hope for Moldova’s future.    

„They are true ambassadors of the country, who contribute to a better life at home and support with determination the democratic way of our state. I repeatedly made sure that we everybody feel in the same way – we want Moldova to flourish, our people to have opportunities at home, according to their potential, so that the justice reform yields fruits and those who impoverished the country are called to account. We want the law to be at the top of the table and the people at home should be in safety. We everybody want our country to be among friends, integrated into the EU family,’’ the Moldovan president said.     

The head of state also said that, during her meeting with President Macron, she had discussed subjects which regard directly the Moldovan citizens who settled in France – recognition of driver’s licences, signing of an agreement on social protection and ratification of the agreement on avoidance of the double taxation.   

President Maia Sandu stressed also that, at the meeting with the Diaspora, she had spoken about the choice the citizens would make at the referendum due in next autumn. ‘’I told them that it is necessary to be courageous and resolute on our way of accession to EU, especially having a war at the border and being target of hybrid attacks. EU is a project of peace and welfare,’’ the head of state noted.
