Romana's Embassy in Moldova participates in afforestation campaign

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Embassy of Romania in Moldova today participated in works of planting trees, within the national afforestation campaign.  

„This year as well, the Embassy of Romania in Moldova gladly joined the colleagues of Moldova’s Foreign Affairs Ministry in the afforestation campaign held in the village of mana, Orhei district. Lime trees and ash trees were planted with much feeling and enthusiasm by the volunteers which started the afforestation campaign, Spring 2024,’’ reads a press release of the diplomatic mission.  

Last week, President Maia Sandu informed that, the afforestation campaign of this spring would start beginning with 10 March. ‘’We are set to plant more than 13 million trees and to take care of the plantations made last year, when we together managed to regenerate forest on seven thousands hectares,’’ the head of state said.   

Maia Sandu urges citizens to continue the greening action within the national afforestation programme this year as well. ‘’The generation of wood can bring the change in our country and combat the effects of the climate crisis. A green country means a clean environment and a sound society,’’ the Moldovan president added.
