Consumption of gas decreases by 30 per cent in Moldova in last February against month before

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - The consumption of natural gas in last February increased by 15.1 per cent against the same period of the 2023 year and amounted to 108.1 million cubic metres. At the same time, this index dropped by 46.5 million cubic metres against January 2024 or by about 30.1 per cent. The Moldovagaz stock company unveiled data to this effect today.   

According to the quoted source, in last February, compensations worth 130.9 million lei were calculated for more than 453,000 household consumers. Besides, the compensations calculated stood at 1.7 million lei, depending on the energy vulnerability category assigned, for the household consumers from the associations of lodgers, who represent 4,702 consumption places.   

A number of 755 consumption units were disconnected from the network of natural gas distribution on the concerned period; the debts of their owners amount to about four million lei (200,000 euros).   

According to data by the Moldovagaz stock company, the level of payment for the consumption of natural gas since the beginning of this year is of 95.1 per cent and amounts to 2.425 billion lei; this index is by 7.6 per cent higher against the same period of the last year.
