Transnistria War veterans with special merits before state to receive increased allowances

Chisinau, 14 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Transnistria War veterans who were decorated for special merits before the state will receive increased allowances. The parliament today adopted a draft law to this effect in the second reading.   

Under the document, the people who were awarded the Faithfulness to Motherland order, of the classes I, II and II for the defence of the territorial integrity and independence of Moldova will receive an increased nominal allocation of 300 lei. At the same time, the people who hold honorific titles and the ones who were awarded crosses and medals during the defence of the territorial integrity and independence of Moldova, as well as the ones decorated for bravery will receive an increased nominal allocation of 150 lei. The additional allocation of over two million lei is necessary on this purpose in 2024.   

The legislative initiative was worked out by a groups of lawmakers of the faction of the Action and Solidarity Party and is aimed at financially backing the veterans who participated in the combat actions for the defence of the country’s territorial integrity and independence, for bravery and spirit of sacrifice displayed at the defence of the constitutional rights and freedoms and the legitimate interests of the citizens.  

Presently, the nominal allocation for the people decorated with crosses, medals and orders is of 100 lei and for those who were awarded crosses or medals – 50 lei. According to statistics data, the number of beneficiaries this year is of 460 people decorated with the Faithfulness to Motherland order of the class I, II and III and 1,126 people who were awarded honorific titles, crosses or medals during the defence of the territorial integrity and independence of Moldova, as well as those decorated for bravery.
