Women entrepreneurs from Moldova can get grants worth up to 600,000 lei

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - The women willing to start a business can get grants worth up to 200,000 lei. At the same time, the developing enterprises managed by women can access non-refundable financial support worth up to 600,000 lei (30,000 euros). The opportunities are provided within the Programme on support of Women’s Entrepreneurship, launched by the authorities.     

The programme provides both financial support and technical assistance for the increase and sustainability of the businesses managed by women from Moldova.   

„The entrepreneurial spirit of the women from Moldova is stronger than ever, in all spheres, at all levels. We, the government, back the women in business through all mechanisms we have at the disposal and we work to provide them equal chances. We are with each woman entrepreneur for her to achieve the maximal potential,’’ Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba said.  

EU Ambassador to Moldova Jānis Mažeiks said that the European Union, through the support provided, pursued both the enhancement of women’s participation in the business environment and the ensuring of the access to equal opportunities.

The programme is financed by Moldova’s government and the European Union and is accessible to the women entrepreneurs from all over Moldova. In this respect, last year, a contract on grant was signed with the European Union on the financing of support programmes worth 8 million euros in all, carried out by the Organization for Entrepreneurship development (ODA), for a three-year period. About 720,000 euros of this contribution is meant for the Programme on support of  Women’s Entrepreneurship.
