Moldovan foreign affairs ministry to participation of Russia's representatives in regional conference of Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations

Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) will now allow the participation of Russia’s official representatives in person in the 34th regional conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

„Taking into account Russia’s continuous aggression war against Ukraine, which glaringly infringed the UN Charter, triggered multiple crises and undermined the food security internationally, MAE ruled not to allow the participation of Russia’s official representatives in person and the limiting at the level of the embassy or in the online format,’’ MAE said.

On 14-17 May 2024, Moldova will host the 34th regional conference of FAO. The meeting’s agenda will contain up-to-date subjects on the field of agriculture, good security, digitalization and sustainable use of lands, forests and water resources.

The format of the event combines the participation in person and online, taking into account the international commitments taken within FAO and the ways of work of the conference.
