Moldovan environment minister says to ensure easy access, correct price for wood

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - We will ensure easy access and a correct price for wood, will combat the illegal cuttings, bringing more transparency to the work of woodmen, or the sylviculturists should be seen as protectors of forests, not as people who harm them. Environment Minister Sergiu Lazarencu, who visited the Beach Tree Region Nature Reserve, has made statements to this effect.        

„At the Beach Tree Region Nature Reserve, sylviculturists and researchers day by day prove how the wood can be combined with innovation, both in theory and in practice, through the planting of experimental trees. I encouraged the people present to continue the researches, as the ‘’Generation of wood needs innovation,’’ the official noted.  

The minister thanked the sylviculturists for the effort made in the implementation of the national afforestation programme, initiated by President Maia Sandu. Also, the participants in the meeting touched upon all citizens’ commitment in the extension and protection of woods.
