Moldovan parliament speaker introduces new president of Court of Accounts to staff

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today introduced the new president of the Court of Accounts (CCRM), Tatiana Sevciuc, to the institution’s staff, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.      

In the message addressed, the parliament speaker urged the CCRM civil servants to keep a close eye on how the public money is spent and stressed the importance of the institution where they work in the fulfillment of the country project – integration into the European Union. ‘’The Court of Accounts has a special role in the correct management and monitoring of the public money, as well as in our process of negotiations with the European Union and namely on the chapters 32 and 33 on the financial control and external public audit. We must move with quick steps, learn from the experience of other states and do our homework remarkably,’’ the parliament speaker said.      

The parliament on 21 March appointed Tatiana Sevciuc to the office of president of the Court of Accounts for a five-year mandate. The candidacy of Tatiana Sevciuc was selected following a public contest. Sevciuc is PhD in economics and has a rich experience in the public money sector. Starting from 2022, she has been member of the Court of Accounts.
