Chisinau, May 8 /MOLDPRES/ - Ten territorial social assistance agencies (ATAS) have received a donation of equipment provided with the financial support of the Norwegian government through the International Organization for Migration (IOM) project - Flash Appeal for Ukraine and Neighboring Countries 2022.

The donation includes 10 multifunctional printers, 10 video conference systems and 10 smart TVs worth almost 700 thousand lei (about 35 thousand euros).

The event was attended by State Secretary of Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (MMPS) Vasile Cusca, IOM head Lars Johan Lönnback and ATAS Ialoveni head Veronica Rusu.

According to the MMPS leadership, the donation will improve the efficiency of social services and ensure the modernization of the infrastructure needed to implement the state policy in this field.

For his part, Lars Johan Lönnback noted that the support has been essential in mitigating the repercussions of the conflict in Ukraine within our borders. "We believe that solidarity and leaving no one behind, especially those in vulnerable situations such as migrants and refugees, is crucial to the success of our programmes," said Lars Johan Lönnback.

The 10 territorial agencies were set up earlier this year. They are administrative authorities under the MMPS, which implement the state's social assistance policy directly and through the territorial social assistance structures.
