World Bank to provide budget support to Moldova

Chisinau, May 8 /MOLDPRES/ - The World Bank, through the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association will provide budget support to Moldova.
Today, the members of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration approved the opinion to initiate negotiations on loan and grant agreements.
The WB will offer a loan of USD 40 million. The Republic of Moldova will also benefit from a $15.5 million grant.
The money will be used to finance the needs of the state budget.
The maximum maturity of the loan is 20 years, including a grace period of up to 19.5 years. The money will be disbursed in a single instalment.
