Chisinau Airport initiates process of expanding passenger terminal

The Eugen Doga International Airport – Chisinau has launched the public bidding process for the reconstruction and expansion of the Passenger Terminal’s building. The project involves reconfiguring the present spaces, expanding functional areas and modernizing the airport’s infrastructure in accordance with international standards of comfort and security for passengers.

The modernization of the Passenger Terminal is part of the strategic development plan for the Eugen Doga – Chisinau Airport, which aims to increase the passenger processing capacity, enhance travel experience and improve operational flows.

The Airport’s administration says that the project will be entirely funded from its own revenues, without involving budgetary funds, and the work will be carried out in stages, so that current operational activities are not affected.

According to the institution's representatives, the expansion and modernization of the terminal represent an important step in aligning the airport’s infrastructure with the economic development and regional connectivity requirements of Moldova.

"The reconstruction of the terminal is a strategic investment in the future of the air transport of Moldova. Through this project, we aim to offer passengers modern conditions, efficient services and a European-standard experience, while maintaining the continuity of the airport's operations," said the management of the Eugen Doga International Airport – Chisinau.

The work is set to begin after the bidding winner is announced, and the estimated duration of the reconstruction will be announced later. According to information published on the platform of procurements, the bidding documentation contains complete details on the participation conditions and the project's technical requirements. The airport invites all eligible and interested companies to take part in the public procurement process.
