Europe in heart of Chișinău

European Town - 2025 was inaugurated today in the Great National Assembly Square, bringing together 19 European Union member states, which brought to the public cultural traditions, specific dishes and interactive activities dedicated to Europe Day.

For many of those present, Europe Day symbolizes Moldova's sincere desire to be part of the large European family.

“I celebrate Europe Day because I want Moldova to be part of this large European family,” said a young man.

“Europe means security, opportunities for young people, respect for people,” added a visitor.

Visitors enjoyed authentic tastes and traditional dishes prepared by representatives of the 19 European Union member states present at the European Town. The gastronomic stands were among the most popular attractions, offering the opportunity to discover the culinary culture of each country.

“I tasted German cuisine, a true journey through this country.”

“I allowed myself to have a Czech beer, we have it in our country too, but here it seems different,” added another participant.

The event also included a special area dedicated to children, where drawing workshops, face painting, educational games and interactive shows were organized.

“We are glad there are activities for the little ones too. This way, we spend quality time together, and the children learn about diversity.”

“It is a nice opportunity for families. While the children are playing, we can learn more about each EU country,” say the parents.

Each country set up its own stand, offering visitors the opportunity to participate in thematic competitions with questions about the European Union, history and culture of each state. Those who answered correctly were rewarded with symbolic prizes, offered by embassies and European partners.

On May 17, the European Town will be organized in Căușeni, culminating with a concert by Pașa Parfeni and Zdob şi Zdub.

Events dedicated to Europe Day 2025 will also be organized in Cahul, Ungheni and other localities through projects funded by the EU and cooperation with local public authorities, Euroclub network and European Information Centers across the country.

European Film and Culture Festival will take place in several locations across Moldova, including villages and towns, between May 9 and 31. Free entrance.
