Moldovan parliament’s standing bureau approves agenda for plenary meeting scheduled for October 2

Chisinau, September 30, 2026 – The parliament’s standing bureau has approved the agenda for the plenary meeting scheduled for October 2.

The agenda includes more legislative initiatives aimed at harmonizing national legislation with European Union standards. The drafts will be examined in the first or second reading.

In the second reading, MPs will examine drafts on the investigation of accidents and incidents in transport; supplementing the procedure for financing the universal postal service with a compensation mechanism; and establishing requirements for the conclusion and operation of commercial representation agreements. The agenda of the plenary meeting also includes the draft on central securities depositories, an initiative to amend the Horticulture Law, as well as an initiative to create the conditions for the development and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.

In the first reading, MPs will examine drafts on aligning national legislation on direct taxation with European Union rules; amending provisions of the Tax Code related to excise duties; and declaring the works of construction and development of the Moldova Hi-Tech Park an object of public utility of national interest. The lawmakers will also consider two drafts concerning the import of vehicles received as donations. The vehicles will be used for charitable and humanitarian activities, as well as for transporting groups from public cultural, arts, youth and sports institutions to cultural and sporting events.
