Prime Minister: Light industry of Moldova has future when we invest in people, creativity, courage to innovate
On the sidelines of his working visit to Hîncești district, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu went to Romanița factory, where footwear, bags, backpacks and other textile and leather substitute items are produced, including uniforms for employees from various fields.
The Prime Minister praised the company’s contribution to the local economy and its focus on sustainable development. Thanks to a grant of 1.3 million lei, provided by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, the enterprise installed a 150 kW photovoltaic system, covering up to 70% of its electricity consumption on sunny days.
About 50 people work at Romanița, as well as students of Hîncești Vocational School, who complete their practical training there. According to the official, this is “a real opportunity for young people to learn a trade, gain practical experience and build a future at home”.
“The light industry of the Republic of Moldova has a future when we invest in people, in their creativity and courage to innovate,” emphasized Munteanu.
The factory was founded in 1975 and produces both for the Moldovan market and for export.
