Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu took part on Sunday in FIRST Tech Challenge Moldova – a robotics competition for young people who design, build and program robots. More than 250 students, organized in 31 teams from across the country participated in the event.

During the championship, the robotics teams presented their projects, innovation process and impact on the community. By taking part in the FIRST program, students develop technical skills – programming, mechanics, 3D modeling, electronics – as well as essential competencies such as leadership, communication, entrepreneurship, and collaboration.

Munteanu praised the involvement of young people in such innovative activities, noting that the Republic of Moldova has young talents capable of competing at the highest international level.

“I have seen not only high‑performing robots, but a generation learning to think critically, to collaborate, and to turn curiosity into real solutions. Every team, every mentor, and every parent here proves that success is built through effort, discipline, and passion. The future is not something we wait for – it is something we build together, step by step,” he said.

The winning teams will represent the Republic of Moldova at international robotics competitions, both at the European level, in the Netherlands, and at the global level, in the United States of America.

The competition is organized by the National Center for Digital Innovation in Education “Clasa Viitorului” (Class of the Future) and the Innovate Moldova Program. FIRST Tech Challenge Moldova is part of the National Educational Robotics Program and is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova.
