Moldovan president meets Latvia’s Foreign Affairs Minister

The Presidency of the Republic of Moldova

President Maia Sandu received Latvia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Baiba Braže, on a visit to Chisinau, at the Presidency today.

The discussions focused on deepening the Moldovan-Latvian relations and the good cooperation between the two countries in the context of Moldova’s accession process to the European Union. The two officials welcomed the close political dialogue between Chisinau and Riga, strengthened by President Maia Sandu’s visit to Latvia in last April, as well as by the constant contacts between the authorities of the two states.

The head of state thanked Latvia for its firm support for Moldova on its path toward European integration and for the assistance provided in strengthening state institutions, enhancing energy resilience and promoting digital transformation. The Moldovan president also said that Moldova stays among the priority countries of Latvia’s development cooperation policy.
