Moldovan president has phone conversation with European Council President
President Maia Sandu today discussed by phone with European Council President António Costa the advancing of Moldova’s accession process to the European Union and preparations for the EU–Moldova Summit due June 22.
The two leaders welcomed the decision on the imminent opening of the first cluster of negotiation chapters. President Maia Sandu reiterated that Moldova was ready to open all clusters of chapters and is continuing the necessary reforms to become an EU member state, within a merit-based accession process.
The officials also reviewed the priorities on the agenda of the EU–Moldova Summit, a regular format agreed by both sides, which shows the firm commitment to the European integration of Moldova.
