Moldovan PM says government to continue to invest in high-quality roads – for people’s safety, better traffic
After years of waiting, the R33 road, which leads to Leuseni, and the G100 road, which connects the village of Carpineni with Mingir, will provide residents of Hancesti and the wider region with better travel conditions. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu inspected the works on the main road, under repair on the segment towards the border with Romania, as well as the already completed auxiliary road that leads to Carpineni.
"Here, we can clearly see the results of investments in road infrastructure. The roads are already of European quality, and traffic is smooth. We will continue to build safe roads, so that people can get home, to work and to essential services more easily, and also to stimulate trade and entrepreneurs who open businesses at home," said the Prime Minister.
Repair works on more than 9 km of the G100 road were completed at the end of 2025, at a cost of 34.1 million lei. This road section passes through Balceana, Carpineni, Mingir and Voinescu and connects 11 villages with a total population of over 20,000 inhabitants.
Progress on the R33 Hancesti – Lapusna – M1 road stands at 79%. According to the project, 37 kilometers of road will be fully rehabilitated, ensuring the fastest connection between Chisinau and the Leuseni border crossing point. The rehabilitation of this route will ensure smoother traffic and better driving conditions, including for residents of the 8 localities crossed by this road – the town of Hancesti and the villages of Anini, Rusca, Lapusna, Pervomaiscoe, Strimbeni, Onesti and Sofia.
