Moldovan MPs to convene at plenary meeting on June 11: five EU‑labelled drafts on agenda

The parliament’s standing bureau has approved the agenda for the plenary meeting  due on June 11, which includes nine draft normative acts to be put up for debate. Five legislative initiatives of them bear the label of the European Union.

Thus, on the meeting’s agenda, in second reading, there are the draft law on strengthening mechanisms for combating corruption, financial crime and organized crime, as well as the draft law on Moldova’s participation in European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation.

The lawmakers will also examine amendments to the Law on Physical Education and Sport, which allow private investment in sports development, the draft law on access to properties of providers of public electronic communications networks and the use of infrastructure, as well as the draft law concerning geographical indications.

In first reading, the parliament will debate the draft law on the media, meant to modernize the regulatory framework and align it with European standards. Also in first reading, there are the initiative on co-financing rail transport, in order to increase mobility in certain localities, and the draft law on the prudential supervision of investment firms.
