Moldovan parliament speaker meets U.S. Congress' delegation

Moldova continues to enjoy the support of the United States, and the Moldova-U.S. partnership is on the American agenda. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has had a meeting with a bipartisan delegation of the United States Congress, on visit to Moldova.

"With most of the eight Republican and Democratic congressmen, I have spoken during my visits to Washington and I am happy that they responded to the invitation and came to personally learn about our domestic situation," Igor Grosu said.

The parliament speaker expressed gratitude to the American delegation for the prompt opening of the two consulates of Moldova in Sacramento and Chicago, as well as for the numerous Moldova-U.S. projects.

"For three decades, the American people have stood by us, and together, we have modernized our villages and cities, strengthened our democracy and defended our sovereignty. Therefore, I told the congressmen about how important it is to continue receiving support in our fight against the crime rings and attacks coming from the Russian Federation. The year 2025 will be a turning point for the European future of Moldova and it is essential that we can rely on friends on this path," Igor Grosu also said.

The U.S. Congress delegation is made up of consists of eight Republican and Democratic congressmen: Vern Buchanan (Republican, Florida), Dina Titus (Democrat, Nevada), Neal Dunn (Republican, Florida), Andy Ogles (Republican, Tennessee), Anna Paulina Luna (Republican, Florida), Ilhan Omar (Democrat, Minnesota), Lloyd Doggett (Democrat, Texas), and Ted Lieu (Democrat, California).
